At the Oktoberfest with iYodl

Since Saturday again they say, “Ozapft is” at the largest folk festival in the world, the Oktoberfest or the Wiesn, as they call it in Munich.

Are you ready for the beer fest? Have you mastered typical Bavarian phrases?
iYodl will help you out in a fun way. Let “Jodel Sepp” make the next order, and with his characteristic “Ge bring ma no a Maß” you can be sure that it will go down well. Meanwhile, he even has a yodel up his sleeve.

But be careful, because if you annoy him by shaking he will get grumpy and will start swearing heartily.
Even if you can’t come to the Oktoberfest, in the meantime iYodl will always provide plenty to laugh about, no matter if you are in the pub, at work or at home with your family.

You can get iYodl in Apple AppStore for 0.79€.

“Jodel Sepp” is now also available in “My Own Diary HD” App from Appmaker. Do you want to know how to see him? Here is a little tip: you should create a diary entry that contains only one word.

There’s also a secret “Yodel Sepp” to discover in “Where To? – Discover your next destination”, a location finder app recently pointed out by Apple as iPhone App of the Week. The Where To? developers are also based in and around Munich and are true Oktoberfest fans. Of course, we won’t tell you any details, just a little hint: The search feature not only lets you search 700+ categories, 2,400+ brands, your address book contacts and arbitrary locations…

Appmaker e.K. releases “MyOwnDiary HD” 2.0 for iPad

Major update of the journaling app is now available on the App Store and supports voice recording

SEEHAUSEN, Germany – November 8th, 2010 – Appmaker e.K. has now released version 2.0 of their popular “MyOwnDiary HD” iPad app. This new version offers voice recording directly on the iPad for integration into the diary and a completely remodeled user interface for enhanced usability.

“The recording function enables the author to use the diary in totally new and unexpected ways,” explains Bernhard Harrer, chief developer at Appmaker. “A possible use case could be a baby’s diary with photos and even your baby’s first words recorded directly on the iPad.”

Using the new map function the author can now assign locations to entries. If the GPS module is active, the app will automatically detect your location. The user will also have the opportunity to manually select a location from a world map.

The new search function simplifies searching for specific entries even in comprehensive diaries.

“MyOwnDiary HD” 2.0 iPad app is now available on the App Store for $3.99 (http://www.appmaker.de/myowndiary/2.0/buy/).

Creating a Backup with “My Own Diary HD“.

From Version 1.2 upwards, you can create Backups for the Diary and recover them any time. This function makes use of iTunes File Sharing.

To create a complete Backup, close down the iPad on your computer and launch iTunes.

Select your iPad under “Devices”. In the Main Window, click on the “Apps“ Tab, and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Here, you’ll find the “File Sharing” field to select from “My Diary HD“. You should get a list with at least one file: “DiaryData.mydef“.

It’s possible that you’ll see more than one file listed, for example, if you’ve already exported your Diary as a PDF or Text file.

To store the entire Diary, you’ll have to copy the entire “DiaryData.mydef“ file from your computer. Highlight the file, then click on the “Save to…” button.

Next, choose the location you want to save the file to, then click on the “Choose” button.

If you want to rewrite the Backup data again, please use the “Add…” button and select the Backup file. It is important that this is the “DiaryData.mydef“ file.

Please Note: When you overwrite the data on your iPad with another file, all of the Diary entries on your iPad at that time will be overwritten.

See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094?viewlocale=en_US for a general guide to iTunes File Sharing.

Appmaker e.K. Publish “My Own Diary HD 1.2“ For iPads

An Update of this Diary App is available for download from the App Store, and now supports PDF-Export

SEEHAUSEN – 04. June 2010 – Appmaker e.K have published a new Version 1.2 of their popular Diary App “My Own Diary HD“ – exclusively for iPad users. The new Version has been extended to include an Export function that allows you to back up all of your diary entries, and to select specific entries and export them as PDF or Text files. Exports can be made either via iTunes’ own Filesharing system, or by E-Mail.

Users of “My Own Diary HD” told us they wanted an Export function they could use to back up sensitive data on their own computers in a standard format“, said Bernhard Harrer, Appmaker-Chief Designer. “Enabling the diary writer to export in this way gives them total control over their own records”

As well as the new Export function, “My Own Diary HD 1.2“ now supports no less than eleven different fonts. “Users can now personalise their own diary entries to a much greater extent” added Christoph Masak, Chief Designer of the Appmaker.

As well as the functions mentioned above, the new Menu now allows users to change their password and delete messages, as well as allowing you to jump directly to any entry on the selection list.

“My Own Diary HD 1.2“ – exclusively for iPads – is available for only € 2.39 at the App Store (http://www.appmaker.de/myowndiary/1.2/buy/).
